To say that LittleBIGPlanet for the Vita is a highly anticipated game is quite the understatement. The LBP series continues to be one of Sony’s runaway success stories, and it has certainly won over the hearts and minds of many PS3 owners. This upcoming installment, which will make its way onto the Vita, is poised to push the franchise into new territory with new features.
Since this title will be debuted on the Vita, gamers should expect to be able to take advantage of increased mobility. It has even been suggested that several as-of-yet unknown features will be revealed with this release. According to trusted sources, the Vita version of LBP will open the door to new creative avenues and greatly increase your sense of in-game freedom. It will be interesting to see how they integrate the nearly infinite amount of fan-created content into this title; personally, I’d like to see an internet-based feature that would allow gamers to interact with others (who might be close in proximity) in some unique fashion.
One of the coolest things coming our way in LBP Vita is the ability to do much more than simply running and jumping. According to Sony *:
“…now you can also tilt, touch, pinch, push, pull, drag, and flick your way around LittleBigPlanet thanks to the multi-touch screen, rear touch panel and Sixaxis sensors of PlayStation Vita”.
Seriously, how exciting is that? In other words, now we’ll be able to expand our gameplay experience in wholly new and unexpected ways which will no doubt greatly affect the type of content users will end up creating / developing. Also, you’ll be able to move your transferable items from the PS3 titles to the Vita.
LBP for the Vita is set to greatly expand the series while at the same time utilizing more of the technological capabilities of the Vita itself. Any way you want to look at it, this is one game that’s probably going to rewrite the rulebook…yet again.
LittleBIGPlanet is set to hit the stores sometime in 2012 according to Sony; an official date has yet to be set.
